The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary has a long tradition of being involved in monitoring the bird population in our area by helping survey birds with other organizations. The Sanctuary also performs a weekly survey of the grounds so that visitors are able to know what has been seen. We contribute our site survey information to eBird, a citizen science project that collects bird observations from all over the world. This data can then be used by researchers, land managers, and educators. It is a great way to become involved in a wide-reaching project and to learn what is in your own backyard.
