Do you love nature themed stories? We do, and that’s why we’ve created an experience called Storybook Walk. Each month, we will display pages from a new book for visitors to read as they explore along our accessible ¾ mile Paved Path.
Information details for Storybook Walk:
- Book Title for September: Starlight Symphony by Buffy Silverman
- Book Summary: This month’s book, “Starlight Symphony,” celebrates nature’s music, as made by animals. Listen in as a wood thrush, a cricket, a woodpecker, and many other animals perform a symphony under the stars. Through rhymes and photos this book links animal behavior, figurative language, and onomatopoeia as animals are compared to musicians. The back matter provides details on the animals and instruments.
- Audience: Family
- Reading Age: 3-6 years
- Language: English
After the story, visit the Sanctuary Overlook, where you can learn about the sounds of insects and birds of Michigan.
FREE to members, regular admission fee for non-members.
Accessible throughout the month during normal business hours.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Also, be sure to join us on September 7th for Storytime with Buffy Silverman when the author will provide a special reading of Starlight Symphony.
