KBS is partnering with local organizations to bring more science into their camps!
The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary has a long history of hosting summer camps. Unfortunately, we are unable to continue running week long camp experiences due to a variety of reasons. But in 2017, we are partnering with the Kalamazoo Nature Center, Tollgate Farm and Education Center, and the Kalamazoo YWCA to bring the science of KBS to more children of different ages and backgrounds.
Each organization is planning to bring their campers to KBS for hands-on science experiences. Participants will be engaged in a variety of activities such as water quality testing and invasive species monitoring with underwater robots, identifying birds and observing behavior, and helping with animal care by feeding the captive birds at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary.
KNC, Tollgate, and YWCA bring their own unique strengths to the table in this partnership, as does KBS. We are excited to share our science and empower more children from all over southern Michigan to learn and love science!
A legacy of conservation; a commitment to sustainability.
