Know a young person with an interest in science and the natural world? Join our new Exploring with Scientists series to meet a real KBS scientists and hear about the cool things they study!
This month, meet KBS Graduate Student, Elizeth Cinto-Meija, and learn about birds, noise pollution, and conservation. Elizeth will describe how she asks the question “Do birds avoid noisy habitats?” and how scientists like Elizeth study birds and other species present in an ecosystem.

Audience: Ages 9-14, families, classrooms
Objectives:
- students will engage with real scientists and learn more about their research
- students will be walked through a real-life science experiment and see what (field) research is like in order to answer a scientific question
- students will be able to ask questions about a scientist’s career, education, research, and other related topics
- students will be able to reflect on their own experiences with science and further define their definition of science/scientists
