This is a great event to learn about hummingbirds – and hopefully see them up close!
Brenda and Rich Keith from the Kalamazoo River Valley Bird Observatory (a program of the Kalamazoo Nature Center) will bring their expertise in bird banding to the Sanctuary. Brenda is one of only a few hummingbird banders in Michigan.
As you can imagine, banding a hummingbird takes an extreme amount of skill. A banding demonstration will take place in the Pollinator Garden, and then there will be a slideshow in the Auditorium with information on the research and data collected through banding hummingbirds.
Location: Kellogg Bird Sanctuary Auditorium and Pollinator Garden
Cost: Members $5/adult, $4/ student and senior, $3/ child
Non-members $7/adult, $6/ student and senior, $5/child
Audience: Family Program
Registration: Not Required
