Project Wellness Walk here for June 2026

Thank you to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary for being the first organization to host Project Wellness Walk (PWW)! This project is a service project of Girl Scout Troop 80436 from Richland, Michigan. As Cadettes, aka middle school aged Girl Scouts, we had the opportunity to complete a Silver Award, which is a service project to help with an issue in our local community. As a troop we iden

tified mental and physical health as a challenge within our community. We created Project Wellness Walk (PWW) to help.

Did you know that 23.1% of adults on average struggle with mental health issues? Also, about 28.5% of teenagers from 12-18 struggle with mental health issues as well. Our project, Project Wellness Walk, is centered around helping people of any age with building mental health awareness. It’s hard to get better when you are already deeply struggling, but we want to show that it’s okay to get help, and that there are easy ways to help you get better.

PWW is a series of 8 signs that share ideas for helping to improve mental and physical well-being. We designed the sign during the 2025-26 school year, our design skills were informed by a field trip to Noteworthy, a local business and meeting with their experts. The PWW signs include elements such as poetry, easy exercises and an empowering play list. Check out a digital version of the signs: https://canva.link/0mz52qfywjls4hn. The yard signs are designed to be placed along outdoor trails in our community. We invite you to come on a walk and read them soon!
