Come join the fun as we celebrate the ducks that stick around Michigan during the winter! Explore how ducks stay warm, how they float, and uncover other fascinating duck facts through a variety of hands-on activities. Take a stroll along our accessible, 3/4-mile Paved Path and learn even more about these amazing birds. Weather permitting, corn feeding will also be available.

Planned activities:

  • Auditorium: Rubber ducky games and craft station
Have a blast with Rubber Ducky Games and win exciting prizes as you test your skills. Then, unleash your creativity at the craft station and make a ducky masterpiece to take home!
  • Resource Center roost: Duck exploration station
Dive into the world of ducks with interactive activities and cool facts that will leave you quacking with curiosity.
  • Trails: Scavenger hunt and duck facts
Wander the trails, discover hidden clues, and learn fun duck facts along the way!
  • Fire pit:
Warm up by the fire and enjoy a cozy break from the winter chill.
  • Overlook: Read to a duck!
Kids can enjoy reading aloud to our duck decoys—it’s a fun way to practice reading while celebrating ducks!
  • Snow duck building contest (weather permitting):
Get creative and build your own snow duck! A fun activity for all ages, depending on the snow conditions.

Cookies, popcorn, and rubber duck items will be for sale. Activities are free with the price of admission. Admission is $6/adults, $5/seniors and students, $4/children ages 2-17. Sanctuary members always get in free!
