Know a young person with an interest in science and the natural world? Join our new Exploring with Scientists series to meet a real KBS scientists and hear about the cool things they study!

This month, meet KBS Graduate Student, Alice Puchalsky in exploring the Lepidopteran world. Learn about how moths interact with their environment, about their important role as pollinators, and how scientists are working to conserve them.

Audience: Ages 9-14, families, classrooms

Objectives:  

  • students will engage with real scientists and learn more about their research 
  • students will be walked through a real-life science experiment and see what (field) research is like in order to answer a scientific question 
  • students will be able to ask questions about a scientist’s career, education, research, and other related topics 
  • students will be able to reflect on their own experiences with science and further define their definition of science/scientists
