Learn about Michigan’s diverse natural vegetation, emphasizing basic ecological principles of plant distribution, and influences on Michigan major vegetation types.

Learn basic botanical taxonomy and ecology as we get a close-up look at plant parts and identify characteristics for 40-50 plants. Develop skills in using family features and a botanical key to identify plants.

The Field Botany course offers two-hour classes, once a week for six weeks. There will be three classroom sessions and three field sections.

Class dates: August 8, 15, 22, 29, and September 5, 12

$160/members. $180/non-members. Limited to 20 participants.
