Field botany guests on the trail learning to identify plants along the trailLearn about Michigan’s diverse natural vegetation, emphasizing basic ecological principles of plant distribution, and influences on Michigan major vegetation types.

Learn basic botanical taxonomy and ecology as we get a close-up look at plant parts and identify characteristics for 40-50 plants. Develop skills in using family features and a botanical key to identify plants.

The Field Botany course offers two-hour classes, once a week for six weeks. There will be three classroom sessions and three field sections.

Class dates: August 7, 14, 21, 28, and Sept 4 and 11

$160/members. $180/non-members. Limited to 20 participants.

Registration required by August 2, 2019.
