Come explore the natural sciences with W.K. Kellogg Biological Station’s Kids Being Scientists day camp!  Campers will become an ornithologist on Monday, a wildlife biologist on Wednesday, and2015 campers group photo at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary a botanist on Thursday while exploring the natural world we live in. We will be unlocking the fun of science with hands-on experiments, and up-close encounters with amphibians, birds and wildlife. Each week we will be conducting science experiments, exploring how art and science work together, playing games, singing songs, swimming, and fishing! Here’s a sneak peek at a few of our activities for the week:

  • Explore biology by hunting for habitats– Get ready to explore!  We will spend the day visiting different habitats and discovering the plants and animals that live there.
  • Wild about birds – Become an ornithologist and study birds and their amazing feats!  Let’s learn about wild and captive birds. Photos will be taken with the Sanctuary Raptors.
  • Wonders of wildlife – Become a wildlife biologist and set up locations for spotting wildlife at night!
  • Water detectives – Did you know that we live in a watershed?  Campers will solve mysteries about the water in our communities.  We will investigate lakes and wetlands and build boats to go exploring!

This camp has an optional overnight camp out on Thursday July 21!
