This April, we’re celebrating National Poetry Month with Poetry on the Trail! Explore the beauty of nature through the written word as you stroll along our paths, where poems are placed to inspire a deeper connection with the environment around you. As you walk the Paved Path, take a moment to read the poems scattered along the way.
Be sure to stop by The Overlook, which features a dedicated Haiku Corner, where paper and writing materials and prompts will be available for anyone interested in crafting their poem.
- Kadeem Gilbert, KBS assistant professor, known for his place-based haikus, captures the essence of specific natural locations.
- Mikayla Thompson, (Cherokee Nation descendant) explores grief, love, and joy through her poetry depicting relationships between herself, her loved ones, and the natural world.
- Selected poems by MSU undergraduate class
Throughout the month of April during normal business hours.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
No registration is required.
FREE to members, regular admission for non-members.
