News for the New Year!

The Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is excited to launch a new website this New Year! The new site gives Sanctuary staff a lot more flexibility in sharing information with you. We hope that you will find the information as accessible and interesting as we do! Another highlight as we ring in the New Year is the launch of online program registration for 2016. Check out our online events calendar, click on any event for more information and sign up today!

Our grounds are open 365 days a year. Visitors can use our winter entrance until the Resource Center reopens February 29, 2016. We have many birds that choose to spend the winter with us and they would love to see visitors! Corn is available to purchase just inside the winter entrance for those who wish to give the waterfowl a treat. Sanctuary staff continues to be available Monday through Friday. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns, or if you’d like to stop in to shop! We would also love to have you join us for our monthly Birds and Coffee walks on January 13th and February 10th from 9:00-10:30a.m. These staff-led bird hikes take place the second Wednesday of every month all year round!

We are also excited to be kicking off our spring programming with a new event – Project SNOWstorm: Snowy Owls in Michigan! This event will take place Tuesday, March 1st, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Sanctuary auditorium. Learn more about these magnificent birds and the information that has been learned through banding these owls in Michigan! Visit our online event calendar for more information!

The Sanctuary has big plans for 2016 and we hope that your new year is just as great!
