Expand your knowledge and appreciation of the world of birds this spring by joining this year’s Field Ornithology course.

This year’s course will be a combination of online sessions and field trips, with multiple ways to participate.

Local bird expert and photographer Josh Haas from Hawks on the Wing and  Kellogg Bird Sanctuary Manager Lisa Duke will co-lead the course. Join them to improve your bird watching and identification skills. All skill levels are welcome.

The online course runs 6 to 7 p.m. on a series of Wednesdays; March 29 and April 5, 12, 19 and 26. The field trips will take place at or around the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary from 8 to 11 a.m. on two Saturdays, April 1 and 29.

Course fees and registration

  • Full course (online and in-person)—Sanctuary members $90, non-members $120.
  • Online lectures only—Sanctuary members $60, non-members $75.
  • In-person field trips only—Sanctuary members $30, non-members $45.
